The European Commission web presence

As co-founders of the OpenEuropa initiative, a Directorate-General for Digital Services (DIGIT) project, Nuvole has collaborated closely with our colleagues at the European Commission to promote the adoption of open-source tools and practices. Our efforts have led to the development and maintenance of numerous open-source components. Additionally, we co-led the creation of an internal SaaS platform and established a site factory pipeline, enabling one-click deployment of new sites. This approach has facilitated economies of scale, with notable implementations on the European Commission and European Union websites.

Reusable Open-Source Components

In partnership with European Commission colleagues, Nuvole has developed and maintained a suite of open-source components, such as Drupal modules, official Drupal themes, Docker images, and client libraries. These reusable assets streamline development processes and promote consistency across European Institutions' web platforms.

Internal SaaS Platform Development

Nuvole co-led the development of an internal SaaS platform, providing a robust foundation for web services within the European Commission. This platform supports scalable and efficient deployment of web applications, enhancing the Commission's digital capabilities.

One-Click Site Factory Deployment

By building a comprehensive site factory pipeline, Nuvole enabled one-click deployment of new websites. This innovation has led to significant economies of scale, allowing for rapid and consistent site launches across various European Institutions.
